Your Child’s a Superhero ⭐️

I believe all children should be gifted with capes! “Why?” you may ask, and I answer with a very quick “They’re all born with superpowers! They should have a symbol to show the world.” 🦸🏽‍♀️🦸🏻‍♂️

Recently, one of my Star Path Community Members shared with me how her and her partner have a ‘debrief’ after our weekly sessions. Following the most recent presentation, as they recalled the content, her partner exclaimed, “Wow, it’s just that he’s going through so, so much!” And to this I said, “Yes, he’s absolutely right, that‘s exactly what is happening. True story!”

As Montessori discovered, children are born with an incredible power at birth, a power that is universal to all children but also unique in that it only lasts a few short years. This is the power of the child’s Absorbent Mind, the power to take in everything that is presented to him as is and use it to construct himself as a human of the specific time and place he is found.

WHOA! I know, right?!

So... how do we come to know of the Absorbent Mind’s powers and prepare ourselves to provide for it as best we can for our children? With knowledge, guidance and support, just as Montessori did to bring the importance of this special power to light. Luckily, this power has been focused on more and more as we as a culture come to understand the amazing capacity and abilities of the young child’s mind and how the personality is constructed by its experiences.

Knowing of the powers of the Absorbent Mind is step #1. Working to recognize the functioning of it and providing for it in the best way possible for your child, that’s step #2. Come and join me and current Star Path Community Members as we dive into this great work together ✨
